The GRANIFRIGOR™ is built by German manufacturer FrigorTec. The grain cooling system was developed in the 1960’s to ensure optimum cooling of stored grain and to avoid unnecessary chemical fumigation. FrigorTec has continually developed the design to maximise daily productivity and minimise energy requirements. Today the business has thousands of customers around the world that use FrigorTec cooling solutions.
An aeration system is required to deliver the cool air generated by the GRANIFRIGOR™. Grain can be stored in a silo or building but the system cannot be used in conjunction with a grain drying floor. The grain coolers draw in ambient air and first reduce the temperature, then adjust the relative humidity to ensure it is cool and dry before it is pushed through the grain. This air then extracts heat and moisture from the grain, quickly reducing the temperature of the grain.
The GRANIFRIGOR™ has a comprehensive range of features including frequency-controlled fans and sound optimised compressors to minimise environmental impact. Different running modes include, whisper mode, rapid cooling and ventilation only. Large area filters with blockage monitoring and counter pressure monitoring ensure effective operation of the equipment at all times. The units may be remotely controlled via the FrigorTec app and there is an optional automatic cool stop function once the target grain temperature is achieved in the stored grain.
